what are unbounded pins ?

I just want to know what is an unbounded pin. If its related to LVS, then please explain in terms of that only.
 

An unbound pin is one that is seen in some view, but missing
in some other (switch-view) as some tool traverses the
hierarchy. Like, say, a symbol placed in your top schematic
has a pin which is missing in the symbol's schematic view
(or spectre, or ..., depending on who's complaining and
what it's trying to map out).
