What are the various tools available for LAYOUT ?

1. Cadence
2. Magma

Orcad? Circuitmaker?

I don't know about circuitmaker, but I assume those are both PCB layout tools. Not GDS.

hi
Do you mean IC layout?
if yes:
l-edit, cadence, COSMOS-LE

regards

Orcad & Circuitmaker are used for System-on-Board design, not GDS.

For LAYOUT, you should use Cadence, Synopsys, etc.

can anyone explain the term GDS....

Hi aandavan

GDS is Global data structure/Geometric data structure. This is the format in which a fab unit will accept.
