What are the various styles of RTL coding used in IC design?

There are micro-codes.. where RTL reads in codes and execute them..
Timing driven processing, for example those in wireless transceivers.. you receive a data bit by bit, packet by packet etc..
And those descriptors based, where you read some instruction/descriptor memory (similar to micro-codes?) and process them..

I dont mean "RTL coding style".. rather I want to know ways things are done, to get some fresh ideas.. :idea:

What other styles of coding people use? :roll: I am a historian..:p:lol:
