What are the types of radars?

Re: Types of Radar

There are two main parameters.

The transmitter and receiver can be at the same spot. If they are not it is called bistatic.

Then the transmissions can be continuous or pulsed.

Then the parameter measured can be radial speed, range, or both.

The transmission can be modulated to produce pulse compression or not.

Re: Types of Radar

Classification is always difficult, you could
have a class depending on application(surveillance
or tracking), use(civil or militar), range(output power),
etc, etc. some of the radar types that can be found are:
Tracking radar
Surveillance radar
Doppler radar
Weather radar
Over-the-horizon radar
Long range radar
Police radar

Al of them have different frequencies, output power, antennas,
processing,etc.

Re: Types of Radar

I forgot to mention signal processing options such as synthetic aperture.

Re: Types of Radar

Dopler RADar-using dopler effect@ The radar measures what is called radial velocity.

Bistatic RAdar-weather radar transmits a narrow beam and receives the backscattered radiation one or more passive bistatic receivers recover some of the other scattered radiation

Hi
can anyone introduce links or upload a good paper, report or... to answer the above question more precisely?
Thanx
