about RF layout?

Hi everyone, I 'm doing some reseach on RF layout. I wonder what are the special points in Rf layout. Could you give me some advices or commend some books about RF layout design. Thanks!

Re: about RF layout?

I rarely see the book which focus on RFIC layout, but there are several
books which talks on PCB layout. And mos of these focus on high speed
digital layout. The EMC, EMI, RFI issues.

And, your research is for IC or PCB?

Re: about RF layout?

Issues such as shielding. thermal management (PA) ,mismatch reduction and type of fingering to reduce the total series resistance are common consideration in RF layout.

Re: about RF layout?

Hi, what could be the reason if the tests show that shieldings dose not work?
Someone told me that shielding dose not work.

Re: about RF layout?

I'm focus on IC RF layout design, I haved read some book of layout but the content about RF is very little, is there some more except shielding? Thanks

Re: about RF layout?

Read the Christopher Saint book called IC Mask Design.

Not here, check Amazon.com, covers high frequency bipolar AND cmos layout.

Very good!

Re: about RF layout?

the RF layout topic , it is hard to find in a book or article
it depends in many things
even the foundaries when providing u with models , it is valid for a shape of layout
and it depends very much on the width and length

so the transistors u donot have a real wide variaty of layout tricks
but i think the sheilding is very imprtant
specially for varactors and LNA active elements
the passive components must be well modeled ,

in TSMC .18 technology the RF devices is implemented in three wells

also RF layout , it is a companies property , one of the secrets that hard to be published
