What are the front end and back end designs?

Hello,

Could anyone tell me what are front end and back end designs?
And what are their differences.

Just giving you a rough idea on wat is Front-end and back-end.

For example:
Front-end is like User Interface, which normal user can reach it. Let's say a Website, "www.edaboard.com".

Back-end is more for Server or hosting purpose where all the files,back-ups are stored. Normal user will not be able to get in or interface it, even administrator might not interface too. For example, " Server for the EDABoard forum ", where all the user particulars are stored.
