Hello, all friends:

I have two questions: what is fanin, what is fanout?

fan-in and fan-out

Hi,

both terms are explained in this link: **broken link removed**

Basically it involves how the outputs (and the inputs) of a logical gate are loadable by other gates in a circuit and defines the maximum number of loads on a gate's input(s) and output(s). Of course gates are a covername here and include all digital integrated circuits with inputs and outputs.

fanin and fanout

fanin and fanout is related to the no. of max load/gates can be driven by driver gate.
so according to current driving capability this parameter decides..

fan in fanout

Hi,
Fanin is the maximum number of inputs that can drive the particulr stage.
Fan out is the max. number of gates that can be driven by the output.

This depends upon the load of each stage.

For more details refer any digital logic design book.

Thanks
Shaikh Sarfraz

what is fan in and fan out

They describe the number of net connected, without unit.

I think fanin is the standarized load of current gate saw by previous stage.
