what is a choke?? and wht are the different types of chokes present???

Re: chokes

Choke is just an inductor, wounded on a magnetic core. The core can saturate and the inductance dramathically fall. Besides there is maximal current density in the wires. So each type of choke has a maximal current rating.
Depending of the shape and material of core there are chokes for DC and AC.
If the DC choke is wounded on ring core, it means, that the material of core has a distributed gap. Ferrite ring can work only in AC chokes.
