NIOS vs ARM chip

NIOS isn't a chip, it's a hardware implementation of processor on the FPGA. You can use your commands to work with your peripherial implemented on the FPGA (FFT, for example).

Re: NIOS vs ARM chip

NIOS is a soft core which can be put in any fpga along with ur custom designs as SOC...NIOS is not available in market as a seperate uC but ARM is availabel as a uC... Licencing NIOS is very expensive... but to get a ARM chip is very easy

hope i gave a simple answer
