What are the Common method to find the order of the FIR filter When specifications


1.Stopband
2.Pass band
3.Stop Band Attenuation
4.Pass Band Attenuation

are given
Window methods .....or Else directly ?
 

Filter order = 4 /Normalised width of transition band normally works out!

The order of a filter will determined the fall-off from the -3dB frequency to the stop band.
2 nd order 20 dB/decade or 6 dB/octave
4 th order 40 dB /decade
