What are the benefits of Discrete Fourier Transform?

I calculate inverse of a polinomial matrix using Discrete Fourier Transform and obtain better resuls(less time and more precise answer) compared to the case when I calculate inverse of a polynomial matrix using Leverie Taylor method. Why is it so???
