Re: what is Rabitcore

Hi Makri,

The advantages is low cost and high performance (microprocessor 32 bit, 256KB Flash and 128KB RAM).
Rabbit also have the TCP/IP, GPRS, Bluetooth and WiFi interfaces.

If you're coming from Z80 (Z180) world then enjoy the new features and C support.
More correct is "RabbitCore Modules" based on Rabbit 2000 or 3000 16-bit microprocessor (not 32-bit). Don't be too excited of high FLASH and SRAM memory. The FLASH code memory is external. I never felt comfortable with such kind of design because you have no read protection of your code. Even if Rabbit microprocessor looks nice.

With Rabbitcore, there aren't any good debugger for it. It is low cost.

Re: what is Rabitcore

Guys, saying that Rabbit CPU's are 16 bit is patently WRONG. Rabbit is a clone of Zilog's 180 series and do have 16 bit (in the new 4000 series also 32 bit registers) but is basically an 8 bitter. Period. They do have VERY GOOD IDE and debuggers, compilers etc. and it is one of the most stable and good 8 bit CPU"s.
Rabbit Core Modules are what the name suggests - pluggable modules with ROM/RAM, RTC, etc.

Rabbit is not an MCU it is a pure CPU.
