In a std CMOS inverter, if we interchange pMOS and nMOS transitors, without changing the voltage terminals,They say it will become a weak buffer, Please someone emphasize on this....

Re: Electronics

well, i'll help you to reach the answer yourself.
think of N-mos and P-mos passing capabilities; i mean N-mos passes a good zero
and a poor one ;Vo low = absolue zero and Vo high ≠ Vdd

P-mos passes a good 1 and a poor zero;
Vo low ≠zero , Vo high = 1
due to thier CH's
now think of the buffer then sketch your circuit and apply high and low conditions
if you get it ,its ok and if not just let me know.

Re: Electronics

it act as weak buffer because
from the derivation and all we can conclude that the PMOS is Good 1 transmitter
where as NMOS is a good 0 transmitter hence we are connecting PMOS to VDD and NMOS VSS
