i have been searching about water level sensor which can be used. i need a contacted sensor into aquarium water.
i found this circuit
**broken link removed**
but i think if the sensor was made from stainless or some what which can be electrode, it can be danger for fish inside.
i need a suggest what kind of low cost sensor that i can be made.

Measure the water pressure at the bottom and calculate the the water level

Search google for magnetic float switch. There are both vertical and horizontal types.

A piece of wood, suspended with a nylon thread and tied to a micro switch will also provide hysteresis.

By the way, what do you think, fish teeth will convert into nails?
