I am not sure if this should be posted here,but..here goes.
I am trying to implement a water leakage sensor with the help of a microcontroller.
How can this be done?
My idea was to measure the resistace change in the conducting path when there is a water leakage.
In this case can the CTMU on the PIC microcontrollers be used?
Any suggestions for an alternative method will be apreciated..
My solution would be to use source with overcurrent protection (some high-side smart switch) with output to one electrode. Then other electrode through a resistor to ground. Then measure voltage across resistor (or connect it to a comparator or some latch). I don't think CTMU is needed.
But there is a requirement update...
This circuit is to be for detecting different fluids with different resistance levels.
So I will have to use an analog input signal with varying levels for different fluids..
Now I am a little bit confused about the implementation. How will the circuit look like if I have to use a voltage devider of somekind and measure varying voltages ...?
