What is that in brief?
Is it an RTOS that can be used with processors like ARM?

VxWorks is A popular realtime operating system for embedded systems from Wind River, Alameda, CA (www.windriver.com). It is used to control a wide variety of products, including network and telecom devices, test and measurement equipment, computer peripherals and consumer products. It is also used in the automotive and aerospace industries for engine control and avionics. Available for a large number of CPU types, applications are created in Wind River's Tornado development environment.
You also have about to pay about $5 license fee for every part you sale with the OS...

It is used in nuclear santrals, planes and military purposes as a Realtime operating Systems. I know that they are afraid of Real Time linux which is free.

in brief, its a real time embedded operating system, can be used in arm.mips,powrpc,etc microcontroller.

can anybody help me with some hints on how to do a vxworks sample project in ARM or a Pentium?

The BSP for ARM suitable for a Keil Demo board?
I think we will require external RAM and ROM for a ARM7 Chip to run VXworks.
How to modify the BSP for my ARM board?
Some clues will do.
Will start from that.
