Hi everyone,
I am using ADP3339 regulator and converting 5V to 3.3V and I want to know what happens to remaining (5V-3.3V=1.7V) in the process of converting from 5V to 3.3V.

what is difference between EPROM, EEPROM and Flash memories.

1.7V will be drop acros the power device in the IC. The power device acts as variable resistor which in turn maintain the volatge at the output at 3.3V.
try google search for memories
Thanks
Hari

EEPROM is erased and programmed electrically.. using field electron emission. EPROMs are erased with UV-light and certain other sources & programmed thru hot carrier injection. Flash memory is a kind of EEPROM which is erased and programmed in larger blocks.

The current to the load times the 1.7V drop across the regulator is dissipated as watts of waste heat in the regulator case.
