voice recorder

I want to make voice recoerder circuit with AVR micocontroller.
Requirements : - 16 kHz Sampling Rate
- Sound Frequency up to 8000 Hz
- Recording Time is not important with me
I am confusing with 16 kHz Sampling Rate. Anybody can help me .Thanks
 

I've been looking for a program to do this for a current project. Thanks for putting this together! It's exactly what I was looking for...:grin:
