voice chip help.. for 8 small audio messages

hi , need some link tutorial or resources for a project,
have to record/playback 8 short voice messages, that can be then played back using a microcontroller IO line, the ouput of the voice chip would be fed to a gsm modem board that will be airing the message on the call... any ideas? suggestions? etc
