video capture boards and cams under linux

Hi
can anybody help me about the supported video capture boards and cams under linux kernel 2.2 and 2.4 which corresponds to redhat 6.2 ,7.2 or higher versions?
becouse of some hardware restrictions i can't use redhat latest versions.

You know google, don´t you?

Most famous project is video4linux (v4l):

There are many others...would suggest also to check the LDP (linux documentation project)....
