Very new to microcontroller programming

Hiii,

I have requirement to get the tag info from the RFID reader and display it using a LCD screen. Thought microcontroller is the best way to do it.
I am very new to microcontrollers. Would like to know some basic books which will help me understand microcontrollers and their programming.
Any info related to the above mentioned project will be appreciated.

I feel its good to start with 8051, you can find lot of ebooks on EDA Board itself for 8051. Just search for it.

as you are saying you are new to uc programming i can suggest you microcontroller programming by mazidi i think this is the best book for bignners to learn about ucs
