Hello! I have a simple question...

Is it ok to use an SLA battery while it's charging?... For example, I'll be powering a device rated at 9V, 0.85A with a 12V, 7Ah SLA battery. I'll be using an LM7809 regulator in between.

Is it possible?... Do you have any recommendations?...

just out of curiosity, how are you going about charging the battery?

Some chargers work by connecting the load to the battery permanently charging while on load, some have a charger circuit that switches the load power to the main power input while charging and only connects the load to the battery when the main input power is removed.
