Hi ,
I have am sort of noob in trasformers. I just know the basics. Today I came by pulsed transformer that work in high frequencies. i read that this type of transformer usually works as an isolation/couplting for gate drives. My question is if I Varied the number of turns of this type of transformer. Can I use it as a voltage step down/Step up transformer for signals within those frequencies? I don't think I can but I don't know the reason either

Thank you very much in advance.
Amr

yes you can is the short answer.
Obviously you still need to be wary of saturation.
Eventually if you go very high in frequency the ferrite will not be useful any more.....speciallu MnZn ferrite which only goes up to say 3MHz....NiZn ferrite goes up to higher frequency.
Also, be wary of skin effect loss in the windings.
