Using Plain polyester or Metalized polyester Capacitor in place of polypropylene

If they are rated for 250VAC (or whatever the applied AC voltage is) ...
 

FVM thanks, when ever I put on thread you mostly answer all. :)

I am expecting that. Also wondering if it can handle surge. I remember a decade ago when these capacitor regulator swamped the indian market , there were heavy failures. mostly cap blew off. now all of them have stabilized their product with polypropylene. And I rarely see any failure.

Although I am planing to use triac as a switch with ZCD in place of mechanical switch .

Lets see if someone here has more information.
