what value of mov can i use in ac power line to reduce spikes, how should i connect the mov should i connect any resistor through it ,
please suggest the value and circuit thank you.

1) You want a MOV with a rating greater than 330 Volts (230VAC peak voltage)
2) Don't use a resistor, that would defeat the purpose of the MOV.
