USBasp programmer.!!! help needed

USBasp programmer.!!!

Hello Frds,

I have Made a USBasp programmer mentioned on https://www.fischl.de/usbasp/
it successfully programs atmega ICs...i use extreme burner software aswell as progisp...

but now im trying to make it program AT89XX series
i programed atmega8 ic with the usb51 software given in

but wen i replace the Atmega 8 of the original usbasp programmer with the new programmed atmega ic...and connect it to the pc...
the usb isnt recognized...

pls tell me a suggestion for this problem...

hi,
so, did u change fuse bits??? make cksel0..3 to 1. check crystal and maybe there is a problem in IO pins....

no i didnt changed fuse bits...
i thought the firmware might be doing this....

ill try changing it....
and the xtal is of 12Mhz..
anything else i should check for it
