usb to parallel for jtag

I am using the APEX20k FPGA board. To download the prog to the board, i am using the jtag port which connect to the LPT(parallel port) with the PC at the other side.
The problem is i am the notebook user and i need usb to parallel converter to solve this problem cause recently i buy 1 usb to parallel converter but it only work with the printer only.

usb-to-parallel adapter lpt

Yes, USB to LPT only works for printer only. It is different to USB to serial adapter which you can control your hardware/device as if it were original serial port. But by using USB to LPT converter you couldnt control your hardware/ flash your uc, for example. It is for printer only.
