It is a way of adding a via or group of vias or row of vias between two layers to provide a connection between the two layers. Normally its done for ground layers/planes.

Teaching of pcb design

Its because PCB designers sit on their backsides all day, snacking at the PC while slaving over it. Getting fatter so our trousers burst and we have to stitch them back together


I think Cameo explained it very well.

Although I think there is also a big need for decent teaching of PCB layout in schools/universities too, they seem to concentrate more on how circuits work rather than how to put them on a PCB
