hi all,

do you know what is level shift buffer for ?

why do we need to use level shift buffer but not just a buffer composed of inverters?

thanks

Hi gone,
Buffer is just to provide delay, to input data. generally it does not provide voltage gain but current gain so that it can drive the load sufficiently.
When you say level shifter, it means buffer voltage needs extra dc voltage level at the output to drive. Then buffer toplogies uses various methods of dc level shifting. I will suggest you to refer some book, there you can find all your queries.

What happens when you drive a 2.5V supply inverter
with a 1.2V logic output?

Think it through.
