Hi i am new to matlab and i have been exploring Matlab help for days and i'm getting nowhere.

I have this given signal(ecg.mat), sampled at 20Hz. How can i remove the breathing component and at the same time preserve the shape of the heart component. i need to design a filter that meets the objective.

Besides using sptool, how can i implemet this on the matlab command window?

Can anyone pls help in explaining the steps to design such filter?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

u can easily use fdatool in matlab, design your filter
then save it and export it to workspace

hi
at first u must get the spectogram of the signal ( get the fft of autocorrolation of signal) and then u have the 2 seperate frequncy of 2 fused signal and can design a filter to remove one.
