how do i upsize the cells in the critical path after placement in magma blast fusion to improve the slack.

Option 1: Use fix opt global $m $l after placement
Option 2: run gate size $m -critical_path 0p

Hope this helps

hi vak,

tanx for the reply. it answers the question exactly. i would like to know how to upsize cells in the paths which is having 0 slack. for example we would like to have some 50ps slack after completing placement and before enter into cts and routing stages. how to bring my slack from 0ps to say 50ps after placement. also could you explain the usage of data attach and data detach commands.

thank you.

Generally, we increase the margin (jitter + skew ) by 50ps before we start any optimization, using the following command
" force timing margin"

The other option is to reduce the clock period by 50ps.
