unstable output of ADC0804

hi all,

i'm a begginer
i tried to connect anADC0804 in the free running mode, but the out put is stable at a constant value or oscillating rapidly and it does no respond to the input.

i used the schematic in the datasheet .

please help me

use mazidi's book on 8051

check that you have a low capacity capacitor (1 nf) between VCC and GND
