Hello,

I have a couple of *.sch files and a *.pcb file which are on a CD which i want to open in ExpressPCB, but when i try to do that it says these arent valid ExpressPCB files. documentation for these files says they re ExpressPCB files.

What could be causing this error? how do i solve this and how do i get to open these files?

Please provide some help.
Thanks,
Prasanna

The first step would be to find out which CAD tool these files have been generated from. Apparently, it's not ExpressPCB. The file extensions *.sch and *.pcb are howver shared by a number of CAD tools and aren't very specific.

Try open those files with a text editor, and verify if at first lines there are a header information.

yes as FvM has told... it does not look like an valid express pcb software files.... if we use protel, it might open as i had many files like that and that time i used only express pcb and protel schematic softwares....

try with protel schematic software once..... or try out other experts suggestion...

You cant open a file which is generated by latest version of express pcb with old version.

Try latest version.
