unable to cross probe DxD to PADS Layout v2007

cross-probe

i have a problem doing cross probe on DxD and PADS LAyout.
i have checked the schematic and pcb file to be used on the configuration.
i have also enabled cross probe on DxD and i have set the pcb file to be used.

the only problem is that i cannot choose the layout tool to be used before connecting.
when i click on the part where i am supposed to choose between the layout tools like Expedition or Layout etc.., no selection appears and my DxD encounters error and needs to be closed after that.

what could be the problem?
please help me fix this error...
