Hello Guys,

I have just purchased a 900a GSM module and I am trying to connect it to my Laptop via RS232 to USB convertor.

First of all, When I switch on the GSM module, it's receiving calls. I hope that means GSM module is working fine

But when i connect it to my Laptop, I am facing issues:
1. USB connection kept disconnecting.
2. Error in putty, Unable to connect to COM3 port

Could guys please help me out here, I am totally stuck.

Regards,
Dev

Its solved now, Problem was with RS232 to USB convertor.

Unable to connect 900a GSM module with PIC micro controller

Hello Guys,

I purchase a GSM SIM900a modem. I connected it to PC using RS232 port and able to give command to GSM modem via PC and GSM modem sending message as expected.

When I try to fire same set of commands to GSM modem via PIC microcontroller. No message is getting sent to outside world.

1. I have checked RX, TX pin connection. (CROSSED connection with GSM modem).
2. GND is also common.

Could you please suggest, How can I troubleshoot whats going wrong?

Regards,
Dev

Hi
1) check with baud rate if both module has same.
2) Need to check with code (if you wanted to share)
