i am making a ultra violete (uvc) disinfectant box for currency notes, cell phones etc.
the enclouser i planned is sheet metal box ( mild steel 2mm thick sheet) with white powder coating.
my doubt is will ultra violete light corrode the box? are it will be safer.

It should be OK. Most of the UV will reflect off the paint and even if it does the metal box will not be damaged. You might find it better to polish the steel so it is more reflective so less light is lost. I assume you are using mercury vapor UV lamps, standard UV LEDs are almost useless for disinfection purposes.

There may be a long term degradation of powder coated surface in case of continuous exposure, as you observe it in sun light, but it's a matter of years.
