ucam and xilinx spartan 3e interface

I really need your help
I am trying to connect a ucam rs232 ( 4d systems) to spartan 3e board.
My first question: can this be done?
the second thing anyone knows how much current does the camera draw from the supply? I can't manage to find this in the datasheet of the camera.
the third question, any idea on how can I know if I am synchronizing correctly with the camera? I know I have to receive an acknowledgment, but how can I know that everything is running correctly when my design is running and that I am receiving an image ? any suggestions??

you should connect the camera with RS232 port of you PC open hyper terminal and send and receive commends it helps to check weather camera is working correctly or not. and Then use spartan 3e board.
