u slot patch antenna

Hii

I am designing a patch antenna with U-slot to increase the bandwidth. As my previous patch antenna with no slot has bandwidth around 60MHz only and required bandwidth is about 200 MHz.

I am confused on how to determine the dimensions and position on the U-slot on the patch. The frequency of operation is 2.45 GHz and I am using a FR4 board to design the patch which is my requirement.

the Feed method I am using are 1. Microstrip feed line 2. coaxial cable.

Please Help

Thanks

Hello Sajan,

The attached picturs & Pdf files will help...(if not see refernces)
Use the Coax feed instead of microstrip feed for such patchs...

hi , i dont now if this will help but you have to try partial ground technique ,that mean your ground size smaller than substrate size ,
