tutorial for creating plugin for powerpoint??

I like to create plugin for powerpoint which connects to WINLIRC (ir remote control PC) and activate the feature of powerpoint (next,previous slide).
Tell me what should i know to create such plugin...VC++ dll or VBA (macro in the powerpoint). Plz provide me which link to tutorials becoz i don't know much about VC++ or VBA?
