true rms voltmeter without dedicated ics

schematic rms voltmeter

dear all
i want to design a simple true rms AC voltmeter without using special dedicated ics.is it possible to do so.
can anybody please help me out for the circuitry .

As a supplementary comment, individual transistors (with good thermal coupling, e.g. glued together) can be used instead of the 3046 array, with some performance degradation.
