In analog design MOSFETs (if not used a resistors) are generally biased in saturation or sub-threshold ...

Though your question is not that clear ... it would be great if you could target a specific circuit...

But FYI, In current mirrors if the mirroring MOS pair is in linear then the mirroring is inaccurate and in Differential amplifiers if the input MOS pair is in linear the gm and r_out will be low therefore it will effect gain .... Refer Current mirror and Diff Amp materials over net or any book
