Working on learning more about transistors and their operation and how to troubleshoot and check transistors.
Went back into notes and found

Tried searching for this circuit at the Engineer's Garage web site which has a link to this forum:

You may want to type "engineers garage transistor tester" at Google, the circuit is one of the first hits.

Hello Allen,
If you're after an "In circuit Transistor Tester" in general, might I
suggest you try Silicon Chip magazine in Australia.
Their September 1993 issue has a project for that very thing.
If you live in Australia you can purchase the issue and have it delivered.
If not, you can buy the online copy and view it in your browser.
They give a full explanation of it's workings.
