I'm planning to drive 12 V DC brush motor (30W) using L6203 H-bridge driver. Most probably I will use 20 kHz locked antiphase mode. In order to avoid transient voltages in the manual of L6203 it is recommended to use snubber RC network in parallel with motor and optionally to add fast clamp diodes (because internal diodes are slow).

Is it safe to replace both RC snubber and clump diodes with single 15V transient voltage suppression diode (transil, transorb) in parallel with the motor?
