hi guys

how is it possible to detect audio transients in a real time system with very small delay? thed signal must be buffered in surely so a decision can be made. i have been informed that a differentiator then a gate stage can do this, but this method must also need many samples of delay for a releiable decision?

Anyway to detect something short in time domain you need very high sample rate for a releiable decision
