Touch screen Help, how to use it and which components to use ?

Hello , I want to use a touch interface for my circuit. I want to use the touch such that when I press it it should give a signal to ON signal to PIC. It is only 1 channel touch. Kindly tell me how to start? I want the screen to be transparet so that it can be placed on mirror/plastic, i will place all circuits at distance. Please tell me from where to start
