Total bias current of Quad NAND CD4011B?

Where do you read "per device"?

Device is whole CD4011 which is comprised of four gates. 7.5 uA is limit value of quiescent device (not gate) current, typical quiescent current is in nA range. Floating inputs or input voltage in mid range can cause mA quiescent current.

Hi,

The CD4011B says it has 7.5uA of IQ "per device" at 5Vin.
I searched for "IQ" .. did not find it
I searched for "per device" .. did not find it

When I read "5Vin" then I expext "voltage at an input". But I guess you mean "Supply voltage" or in short "Vdd"

So does that mean 4 x 7.5u = 30uA total bias current for the chip?
I searched for "bias" .. did not find it.
I searched for "chip" .. did not find it.

From all the above I ask myself why you don´t use the terminology of the datasheet. It confuses me, because I never can be sure what you really mean.
"Bias current" could also be the current at the digital input, --> I_IN...
"device" accroding the datasheet is the whole IC .... what you call "total .. chip"
"gate" in the datasheet is what you call "device"

Maybe it not only confuses me ... but you are also confused. ;-)
