hello..
i am making a cycloconverter in which i hav 2 fire scr by a pulse .i made control pulses(pk-pk is 10v,width is 200usec)..now i want to give it to gate through optocoupler(moc 3052).circuit didn't work. may be the connection problem
can anyone please tell how to give a control pulse to optocoupler plz??
moc3052:
1. ANODE
2. CATHODE
3. NC
4. MAIN TERMINAL
5. SUBSTRATE
DO NOT CONNECT
6. MAIN TERMINAL

plz reply

can you post your schematic here. use a npn driver transistor such as bc547 conected to pin 1&2 of opto pin 4 should be conected to gate of scr

thank u 4 replying..
i have just made 5v pk-pk pulses of 200usec with the help of logic circuit with me.
then someone said u connect driver circuit to make it 15v pk-pk and then give it 2 transistor and then to optocoupler.as u know npn give 180 degrees out of phase and the control pulse wud be inverted ,so do i have to connect did inverted pulse to cathode of led (in optocopler )to make it forward biased.
please throw light on this if u know..
to which pin of optocoupler i have to connect the pulse.
please tell the optocopler connection as i didn't understand.

Please post a schematic of what your circuit. I've read the description a few times and can't understand it.

refer to the datasheet moc3052 by fairchild. fig.11 basic driver circuit. here triac is used but same can be modified for scr
but why cant you post your schematic here you can roughly draw it in hand take a scan and post here.
