to calculate turnsratio?

Hi,

I want to understand the complete details about Isolation Transformer (with diagramatic explanation).

If a transformer takes 11.8V input and outputs 1.8v , then what is the turnsratio?

If a transformer takes 11.8v,90v,26v inputs and gives maximum 2V output.tHEN HOW TO CALCULATE THE TURNS RATIO? nO OTHER INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
with thanks in advance,

Re: to calculate turnsratio?

The turns ratio is simply the ratio of the voltages, for an unloaded transformer.
So in your case you have 11.8 / 1.8 = 6.55
In the second case you need a tapped primary, but the turns ratios are calculated the same way. So for example the 90V primary to secondary turns ratio will be 90/2=45
