rc timer cd4541

how can i create a delay of 5 minutes with simple resistor and capacitor.

I read somewhere that it can be possible with a capacitor charging through a resistor but cannot make it work.

i have a circuit and i want it to trigger after 5 minutes of applying power and REMAIN operating continuously after this.

regards.

rc delay timer

You can use a 555 timer configured as a one-shot. See its datashet for examples and calculations. You do not need to use the trigger input in your case.

the best option will be to use a 555 timer in the monostable mode.

t=1.1rc
if t=300sec
then you can choose the required available values of r and c.

You must to design with to CD4541 IC.
You can download : CD4541 datasheet).
Sincerely.
