I read somewhere that it can be possible with a capacitor charging through a resistor but cannot make it work. i have a circuit and i want it to trigger after 5 minutes of applying power and REMAIN operating continuously after this. regards.

See its datashet for examples and calculations. You do not need to use the trigger input in your case.
